Maya Polychrome Bowl. A large Maya polychrome bowl from El Salvador, ca. 400 – 700 AD. This fine Saluaware example is 7-3/4” in diameter and depicts a trio of animated Underworld creatures engaged in the ballgame. The rim band consists of various recurved step-fret designs, with linear bands decorating the interior. Intact, with vivid paint and strong mineral deposits. Ex Tribal Treasures Gallery.
