Museum catalog comparisons and find location support use by Vikings rather than Anglo Saxons. The Battle of Stamford Bridge has the English king Harold Godwinson defeating the Viking forces of Harald Hardrada. However, this battle so weakened and delayed the English forces that the Norman forces of William were victorious at Hastings about a week later.
