Steatite Scaraboid Seal. Phoenicia, XV-XI Century BC. Buff steatite scaraboid stamp seal with plain back (rather than the usual stylized beetle) and bezel with crude hieroglyphs: two maat feathers below solar disc or headdress of Isis. 15mm long. cf. Gorton, Oxford Monograph 44. Intact, no chips. Likely a Middle Eastern stamp seal with Egyptianizing elements.
