An intricately painted Nayarit jar from West Mexico, ca. 200 BC � 300 AD. This squat olla is decorated with intricate nested diamonds designs which echo the markings of certain venomous serpents. The widely flared rim is painted with a chestnut color slip. Intact, with strong mineral deposits. Ex Pennsylvania estate
