Maya Polychrome Cylinder. A choice Maya polychrome cylinder from El Salvador, ca. 400 – 800 AD. It is 7” high, 5-1/2” in diameter and depicts a trio of ornately attired Maya lords presenting offerings. Each is painted differently and one is portrayed with a decapitated human head at his back. The rim band consists of various nicely detailed head glyphs. Strong paint, good mineral deposits and root marks. Ex Tribal Treasures Gallery. Value range $2500 - $3000.
