Maya Avian Fragment. A sweet Maya avian fragment from the Copan area of Honduras, c. 400 – 800 AD.  This adorable little owl is 2” high and is finely detailed with a delicately incised scarf and glyphic emblem on the chest.  Owls were important Underworld messengers, thought to be harbingers of death.  Mounted on stand.  Ex Rosenberg estate. Value Range $85 - $150.
