A Rare Byzantine Leather Shoe. A Byzantine leather shoe, Egypt, c. 4th - 7th Century AD, the upper in soft black leather with a central medallion in golden-yellow and red over the toe. Of sleek design with rounded toe and pointed heel, the sole a thick leather base. L: 9 ï¾½" (24.1 cm). Very well-preserved! Ex J. Rilling Estate. Value Range: $1500-$2000.
