Maya Censer from Guatemala, ca. 400 – 800 AD. An excellent Maya censer (incense holder) from the Pacific slope region of Guatemala, ca. 400 – 800 AD. This fine ceremonial vessel is 9" long and has a handle sculpted in the form of a nicely detailed monkey holding the bowl. He is adorned with large ear spools and a ceremonial bib. Intact, with strong mineral deposits, signs of usage and just a minor repair. Value range: $1250 - $1750.
