Octavian. 44-27 B.C. AR denarius (19.8 mm, 3.51 g, 1 h). Uncertain mint, struck 35-34 B.C. Bare head right / IMP/CAE-SAR/DIVI·F, round shield with rows of studs and central boss. RIC 543a; RSC 126; BMCRE 309. Toned aVF, GR banker's mark. 

Ex D. Thomas Collection. 

Both the mint and the date of issue for this type are uncertain. This type may have been struck in Spain, Italy, or a military mint travelling with Octavian in Illyricum. David Sear dates the type to 27-26 B.C.
