Lambayeque Pitcher from Peru, ca. 700 - 1300 AD. A fine Lambayeque pitcher from Peru, ca. 700 - 1300 AD. This nicely decorated blackware vessel is 8-1/4” high and is decorated with crisply incised geometric designs on the chamber, as well as on the flared base. A pair of large birds adorn the top of the chamber and the split strap handle connects the spout to the back. Intact, with good mineral deposits and trails. Ex Sarmiento collection. Value range: $450 - $600.
