Jalisco Female Figure. A lovely Jalisco figure from West Mexico, c. 200 BC - 350 AD. This seated female is 10-1/2" high and is depicted with both hands held to her chest. Her coif is lightly incised and she is adorned with extensive appliqué pellets representing ritual shoulder scarification. Much of the figure is covered with the deep red slip characteristic of the type, with unburnished areas representing clothing. In excellent condition, strong mineral deposits and root marks. Ex Vignos estate. Value range: $1250 - $1500.
