Lot 6-401. A Pair of Stones Weights.

A Pair of Stones Weights. A pair of stone weights. The first is a square Egyptian basalt weight, c. 1st Millennium BC, nicely cut and with a nice polish. On the top are two incised lines, roughly parallel. 3 1/8” x 3 1/8” x 1 1/8” (7.9 x 7.9 x 2.7 cm). The second is a Roman loom weight, c. 1st - 3rd Century AD, carved from pumice. H: 5” (12.8 cm). Both intact. Ex Los Angeles private collection. Value range: $150 $200 .
