Valdivia Head Fragment. An excellent Valdivia head fragment from Ecuador, c. 3500 – 1500 BC. It is 1-1/2” high and comes from a “Venus” figure. The exquisitely detailed face is expressive and peers out from under the large, burnished red coif. Nice example, good mineral deposits. Mounted on stand. Ex Alex Acevedo, 1970’s. Value range $100 - $150.
