Valdivia Head. An excellent Valdivia head from Ecuador, c. 3500 – 1500 BC. It is 1-1/4” high and depicts a female with a finely incised face that is partially hidden by her large coif. The red slip shows extensive mineral deposits. Mounted on stand. Ex Alex Acevedo, 1970’s. Value range $75-$125.
