Sasanian Chalcedony Stamp Seal. A large Sasanian orange-grey chalcedony stamp seal, c. AD 224 - 651, with stylized standing figure on base wearing domed headdress and holding a staff surmounted by a star in each hand. The body rounded with tapering sides and central drilled suspension hole. 26 x 22 x 21mm. Intact with a nice smokey-colored translucence with orange highlights. Ex Los Angeles private collection. Value Range: $200 - $250.
