Chimu Griton. A choice Chimu zoomorphic griton (Screamer) effigy from Peru, c. 1100 – 1450 AD. This detailed example is 6” long and depicts a muca with extensive decor along the top of the chamber. The small handle indicates its functional use as a container for water ceremonies. In perfect condition, with good mineral deposits. Ex Sarmiento collection. Cf.
